Description
Captivating the professional recording world and used by some of the biggest artists and studios worldwide, the Barefoot Sound MicroMain27 is a pair of active, 3.5-way studio monitor speakers that feature vanishingly low distortion, breathtaking dynamic range, and an incredibly fast transient response. The MicroMains27's 1180W amplifier delivers 500W to the dual 10" woofers, 250W to each of the 5.25" midrange driver, and 180W to the radial ring tweeter which combine for a 30 Hz to 45 kHz frequency response at 116 dB SPL.MicroMain27 utilizes Dual-Force technology that eliminates vibrations as each driver is locked together on opposite sides of the cabinet and cancels the force exerted, granting it even greater dimension and transparency across the entire audio spectrum. The speaker also includes MEME technology, which emulates different speaker sets, allowing you to remove your secondary and tertiary monitor, freeing up space, cabling, and power. At a Glance 3.5-way active monitor1180W of power per monitorFrequency Response: 30 Hz to 40 kHzMAX SPL: Continuous 119 dBSealed cabinet designOpposing 10 dual-force subwoofersDual 5.25 midrange drivers1 ring radiator tweeterMEME Technology voice emulationDual-Force technologyDesign Cabinet DesignThe front baffle is machined aluminum and inset into a Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) cabinet with generously radiused corners to minimize diffraction. The cabinet is sealed, extremely well-braced, and damped, enclosing a volume of 32 liters. It features the well-known Barefoot Black polyester coating with its signature textured finish.HandlesEach MicroMain27 comes with two handles, which are handy for lifting and positioning the monitor. Additionally, these handles can double as base skids for mounting the speaker horizontally, adding versatility to its placement options.Dual-Force Technology Cabinet vibrations are a significant source of distortion and coloration in most loudspeakers. The primary mechanism is simple action and reaction. As the driver motor forces the cone to move back and forth in order to generate sound, the cone exerts an equal and opposite force on the motor. This force is transmitted through the driver frame to the cabinet. The effect is especially prevalent in the low frequencies where the cone motion is greatest. MicroMain27 cabinets eliminate vibrations before they even begin through Barefoot's innovative force cancellation design (Dual-Force Technology). The low-frequency drivers are mounted on opposing sides of the cabinet, and their motors are locked together. As the cones are driven in and out in opposite directions, the forces exerted on the motors cancel one another. The vibrations never make it to the cabinet because they are not allowed to develop in the first place. This layout has the further benefit of forming a massive internal metal cabinet bracing. Furthermore, because the wavelengths generated by the subwoofers are much larger than the speaker cabinet dimensions, the subs radiate as if each was a single point source located on the axis with the tweeter. MEME Technology Barefoot MEME technology allows you to box up your secondary reference monitors for good. Despite the numerous advantages of high-resolution monitors, many engineers still rely on their NS10s and mix cubes as secondary references. These speakers have long traditions and people find them familiar and useful for focusing in on certain aspects of their mix. However, it s also a fact that crowding your console with those extra boxes degrades the sound field of the primary reference monitors. Not to mention, these speakers are no longer manufactured, need amplifiers, require cable runs, and consume more studio space. MEME offers an elegant solution by emulating the sound and translation characteristics of those other classic monitors.MEME Vocies:FlatOptimal setting for accuracy, transparency and outstanding translation.
