Description
Designed to meet the evolving modern workflows of professionals working in home-based facilities, smaller writing, editing or post production rooms, as well as on-the-road productions, the Barefoot Sound Footprint01 is a pair of active, 3-way studio monitor speakers that feature vanishingly low distortion, breathtaking dynamic range, and an incredibly fast transient response. The Footprint01's 650W amplifier delivers 500W to the dual 8" woofers, 150W to the 4" midrange and 1" radial ring tweeter which combine for a 36 Hz to 45 kHz frequency response at 113 dB SPL.Footprint01 utilizes Dual-Force technology that eliminates vibrations as each driver is locked together on opposite sides of the cabinet, which cancels the force exerted and grants even greater dimension and transparency across the entire audio spectrum. The speaker also includes MEME technology which emulates different speaker sets, allowing you to remove your secondary and tertiary monitor, freeing up space, cabling, and power. At a Glance 3-way active monitor650W of power per monitorFrequency response: 36 Hz to 45 kHzMAX SPL: Continuous 113 dBCrossover frequencies 250/3600 HzDual 8" woofers4" midrange driver1" ring radiator tweeterMEME technology voice emulationDual-Force technologyDesign Barefoot's approach to reference monitor speaker design has always been to provide audio professionals with exemplary sound quality, wide dynamic range and bass extension at every stage of the audio production process, from recording through mixing to mastering. Composers, songwriters, musicians, beatmakers, postproduction specialists, and others can benefit from the Barefoot sound, whatever their work environment.18 liters total internal volumeSealed woofer and midrange enclosuresMachined aluminum baffle plateAcoustic damping throughoutDual-Force Technology Cabinet vibrations are a significant source of distortion and coloration in most loudspeakers. The primary mechanism is simple action and reaction. As the driver motor forces the cone to move back and forth in order to generate sound, the cone exerts an equal and opposite force on the motor. This force is transmitted through the driver frame to the cabinet. The effect is especially prevalent in the low frequencies, where the cone motion is greatest. Footprint01 cabinets eliminate vibrations before they even begin through Barefoot's innovative force cancellation design (Dual-Force Technology). The low-frequency drivers are mounted on opposing sides of the cabinet, and their motors are locked together. As the cones are driven in and out in opposite directions, the forces exerted on the motors cancel out one another. The vibrations never make it to the cabinet because they are not allowed to develop in the first place. This layout has the further benefit of forming a massive internal metal cabinet bracing. Furthermore, because the wavelengths generated by the subwoofers are much larger than the speaker cabinet dimensions, the subs radiate as if they were a single point source located on the axis with the tweeter.MEME Technology Barefoot MEME technology allows you to box up your secondary reference monitors for good. Despite the numerous advantages of high-resolution monitors, many engineers still rely on their NS10s and mix cubes as secondary references. These speakers have long traditions and people find them familiar and useful for focusing in on certain aspects of their mix. However, it s also a fact that crowding your console with those extra boxes degrades the sound field of the primary reference monitors. Not to mention, these speakers are no longer manufactured, need amplifiers, require cable runs, and consume more studio space. MEME offers an elegant solution by emulating the sound and translation characteristics of those other classic monitors.MEME Vocies:FlatOptimal setting for accuracy, transparency and outstanding translation.
