Ilford Ifotec DD is a high-capacity, replenishable black and white film developer formulated for dip and dunk (hanger) processors, ideal for labs and professionals handling large volumes of film. It is supplied as a liquid concentrate and diluted 1 + 4 with water to create a working strength replenisher. When combined with Ilfotec DD Sarter (at 1 + 250), it becomes an active machine developer ready for consistent processing. Known for its long tank life, strong resistance to contamination, and ability to produce high-quality negatives, Ilfotec DD is built for reliability in demanding environments. The recommended operating temperature is 75 F, though it remains effective within a range of 68 to 75 F. It performs exceptionally in dip and dunk systems, deep tanks, and continuous long-leader processors. For dip and dunk setups, nitrogen gas burst agitation is suggested to ensure uniform development. Ilfotec DD can also be used without replenishment for batch processing; in this case, development times should be increased incrementally after each roll or batch to compensate for developer exhaustion.One liter of working strength Ilfotec DD can process up to ten rolls of 135-36 or 120 film in non-replenished setups. Development times are provided for a wide range of Ilford and third-party films, allowing tailored results across different exposure indices. When stored tightly sealed between 41 and 68 F, unopened Ilfotec DD concentrate has a shelf life of up to two years, while opened containers should be used within three months.
