The dark blue 8x42 H2O Roof Prism Binoculars are ideal for mid- to long-range glassing from birdwatching to hiking & camping to enjoying sporting events, especially on or around the water. Bushnell built them using ecologically friendly glass that is manufactured without lead to be better for the environment. They are outfitted with compact BAK4 roof prisms and anti-reflection multicoatings that work together to maximize light transmission to deliver bright, sharp, and clear high-contrast views with accurate color rendition and crisp resolution, even in challenging conditions. To withstand harsh conditions, the chassis is nitrogen-filled to resist internal fogging and O-ring sealed to an IPX7 waterproof rating so these binos will handle a tumble into a pond or puddle better than you.Optical Performance Moderate 8x power magnifies the view while preserving a wide exit pupil and long eye relief42mm objective lenses boost light-gathering ability versus compact models for improved low-light performance without the bulk of larger objectivesCompact roof prism light path keeps the optical tubes thin for easy handlingBAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil, and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortionAnti-reflection fully multicoated optics maximize light transmission while improving color rendition, contrast, and clarityApparent angle of view approaches wide angle to help minimize the appearance of the distracting hand-shake that is common when holding high-power optics, and presents an immersive observational experience350-foot field of view at 1000 yardsUse and Handling Closed-bridge configuration offers a stable platform for the internal focusing mechanismTextured and slip-resistant center focusing knob is easy to use even in cold and wet conditions or while wearing glovesRight-eye dioptric correction dial helps to compensate for individual optical prescriptionTwist-up eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewearStandard 1/4"-20 socket on the front of the bridge hinge allows the use of an optional adapter to mount the binocular onto a tripod, head, or quick release plateLong 17mm eye relief improves viewing comfort with reduced eye strainWide 5.25mm exit pupil will cover pupils as they open and dilate in low light and ensures the entire scene remains in view without vignettingConstruction Details Ecologically friendly glass is responsibly sourced and made without using lead or arsenicLightweight and durable aluminum alloy chassisNitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof to a rating of IPX7 and resistant to internal foggingChassis armor protects against impactsAggressive texture on the armor with thumb indentations and raised palm pads for a comfortable and slip-resistant grip
