The Celestron Travel Scope 50mm f/7.2 AZ Refractor Telescope Kit is designed for portability and ease-of-use for both astronomical and terrestrial use. Its refractor-style optical tube has a respectable aperture that gathers copious amounts of light, and a shorter focal length that produces a moderate magnification potential. A photo-style alt-az pan/tilt head easily mounts the OTA with a simple screw and has a single control handle that allows for smooth movement and locks the altitude in place for hands-free use to minimize vibration. Supporting it all is a photo-style tripod that collapses low enough for tabletop use and extends to full-sized height. The included erecting prism corrects views horizontally and laterally to the Travel Scope can be used as a conventional spotting scope, and it comes with to eyepieces offering 20x and 40x magnifications although any 1.25" astronomical eyepiece may be used. Everything in this kit OTA, tripod, head, and accessories fit inside the included canvas backpack to make it as portable possible.Optical Tube 50mm aperturef/7.2 focal ratio360mm focal lengthAchromatic refractor optical designAnti-reflection fully coated optics improves light transmission, color rendition, sharpness, and contrastResolution: 2.66 arcsec, Raleigh; 2.28 arcsec, Dawes0.96" rack-and-pinion focuserIntegrated dew shield prevents condensation at night, and minimizes glare during the dayMount and Tripod Mount:Manual pan/tilt photo-style alt-azimuthControl handle for easier pan/tilt and subject trackingLocking handle sets altitudeIntegrated levelTripod:Easy-use photo-styleLightweight and durable aluminum legsFour leg sections allows it to be set on a table or extended to full-heightSimple snap-locks allows for fast setup and breakdownIncluded Accessories Eyepieces:1.25" diameter barrel accepts most astronomical filters8mm produces 45x power, 30 apparent field of view, 67' field of view at 1000 yards (13m @ 1000m)20mm produces 18x magnification, 32 apparent field of view, 84' field of view at 1000 yards (28m @ 1000m), 15' (4.5m) close focus distanceDiagonal:0.96" snout to fit drawtube with a 1.25" eyepiece holder to accept larger, more popular eyepieces45 angle puts head in comfortable position for celestial and terrestrial viewingIntegrated erecting prism corrects view horizontally and vertically for land useBarlow Lens:3x magnification triples the power of any eyepiece0.96" snout to fit drawtube with a 1.25" eyepiece holder to accept larger, more popular eyepieces2x20 Finderscope:2x magnification produces a wide field of view to make finding subjects easy and star-hopping navigation fasterStraight-through viewingBackpack:Water and tear-resistant canvasHolds scope, tripod, mount, and accessoriesPadded interior protects gear
