The PowerSeeker 50 50mm f/12 AZ Refractor Telescope from Celestron is a starter scope designed to introduce viewers to astronomy by giving them a complete setup for viewing the moon, planets, and meteor showers. Three eyepieces provide 30x, 50x, and 150x magnifications with a 3x Barlow lens that triples the magnification of each eyepiece for a wider range of observing possibilities. An adjustable height aluminum tripod provides a stable platform for sky-watching, and the included 90 star diagonal makes looking through the scope more comfortable, especially when aiming the telescope toward the zenith.Optical Tube 50mm aperture600mm focal lengthf/12 focal ratioRefractor-style optical designAnti-reflection multi-coated optics improves light transmission, color rendition, sharpness, and contrastResolution: 2.79 arc sec, Raleigh; 2.32 arc sec, Dawes0.96" rack-and-pinion focuserMount and Tripod Alt-Azimuth mount with altitude lock2-Stage adjustable height aluminum tripodTray holds accessories such asEyepieces and Accessories Eyepieces:0.96" diameter barrel20mm eyepiece yields 30x magnification, 51 apparent angle of view, 72' field of view at 1000 yards12mm eyepiece yields 50x magnification4mm eyepiece yields 150x magnificationBarlow lens:3x magnification effectively triples the power of each eyepiece for wider viewing optionsDiagonal:90 angle provides a more comfortable viewing positionStar diagonal vertically corrects images for land use5x24 Finderscope5x magnification produces a wide field of view to make finding subjects easy and star-hopping navigation fasterStraight-through viewingIncludes mounting bracket
