Opticron

Walking the fine line between compact and full-sized, the Opticron 8x32 Explorer WA ED-R Binoculars are easy to pack for a long trip and carry all day without sacrificing low-light performance, eye relief, or exit pupil making them ideal for birding, general nature watching, hunting in wooded areas, and sightseeing. Extra-low dispersion glass lenses, anti-reflection fully multi-coated optical elements, and phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms with proprietary high-transmission R-type coatings work together to maximize light transmission and virtually eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations, producing crisp and clear high-contrast images with true color fidelity across the expansive field of view.Opticron employs a combination of aluminum alloy and polycarbonate for the chassis to reduce weight without sacrificing strength and overall durability. The body is wrapped with rubber armor to give protection from drops and impacts while helping to provide a slip-resistant grip especially in cold and wet weather. Designed for durability, the housing is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance in all types of conditions. Included with the binoculars are two tethered objective lens covers and a one-piece ocular rainguard that attaches to the neck strap so your caps and covers are always within easy reach. Measuring under 5 inches in length and weighing well under a pound, these binoculars will be your constant companion from the backyard to the back country to the outback.Optical Performance The combination of magnification and objective lens size makes these binoculars ideal for travel, long days on the trail, birding, and stalking through brushModerate 8x magnification brings subjects in close for viewing without narrowing the field of view or shortening the eye relief, greatly improving viewing comfort32mm objective lenses straddle the line between compact and full-size to offer the compact form factor of the former with the performance of the latterCompact roof prism light path ensures a slim profile without sacrificing performanceBAK4 prism glass delivers a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortionPhase-corrected prisms increase image contrast and correct for chromatic aberration for true color renditionProprietary high-transmission R-type prism coatings maximize light transmission, limiting internal diffraction and light lossExtra-low dispersion (ED) glass lens elements reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations for increased contrast and improved color rendition and sharpness without distortion across the entire field of viewAnti-reflection fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission to ensure bright and clear images with accurate colors and improved contrast and clarityWide 62 apparent field of view offers sweeping views of the landscape, minimizing the need to move the head improving viewing comfort and presenting an immersive experienceWide 408-foot field of view at 1000 ydUse and Handling Closed-bridge configuration provides a stable and strong platform for the internal focusing mechanismLarge slip-resistant center focusing wheel is easy to manipulate in cold and wet weather, even while wearing glovesLocking right-eye dioptric correction allows user to compensate for optical prescription to produce sharper views and lock the correction against accidental movementWide 54-74mm interpupillary distance adjustment range enables easy use by a wide variety of usersTwist-up click-stop eyecups for easy use with or without eyewearIntegrated 1/4"-20 socket on front of center bridge hinge accepts an optional tripod mount for easy hands-free use to relieve arm fatigue and limit vibrationsLong 18mm eye relief provides improved viewing comfort and reduced eyestrain during long glassing sessions4mm exit pupil will most pupils as they open and dilate in low light to keep the whole scene in view without vignettingConstruction Details Compact & lightweight, measuring u
