Alpen Optics

Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens combination preferred by hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts or its versatility and usefulness, the Alpen Optics 8x42 Apex Waterproof Binoculars will be your go-to optic for all outdoor activities in any weather conditions. The Apex series features proprietary PXA phase-correcting prism coatings and HR metallic covered reflective prism surfaces that maximize light transmission and boost clarity and contrast. The prism coatings are complemented by anti-reflection fully multicoated optics which provide bright and clear high-contrast views with accurate color rendition. The 42mm objectives gather all the light needed to keep views crisp and bright in challenging conditions, such as at dawn and dusk, without being overly bulky or cumbersome. Their wide field of view helps to minimize the distracting hand-shake that is common with high-power optics and reduces side-to-side head movement while providing both long eye relief and a wide exit pupil.Optical Performance Moderate 8x power magnifies images while preserving a wide field of view and exit pupil with a long eye relief for easier, more comfortable viewing42mm objective lenses improve light-gathering ability, even in challenging conditions such as at dawn and dusk, without the bulk or weight of larger objectivesCompact roof prisms help to produce a thinner housing size without compromising performanceBAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortionPXA phase correcting prism coatings improve contrast and clarityHR metallic prism coatings on internal reflective surfaces to limit light loss and maximize light transmission through the prism systemAnti-reflection fully multicoatings improve light transmission, color rendition, and contrastShort 6.6-foot close focus distance is ideal for making detailed observations of small subjects like birds, bees, insects, flora & fauna at feeders and flower bedsWide apparent angle of view presents an immersive observational experience while reducing the need to move your head side to side to see the whole scene in front of youSpacious 426' field of view at 1000 yardsUse and Handling Closed bridge configuration provides a solid and stable platform for the internal focusing mechanismLarge slip-resistant center focus wheel is easy to manipulate in cold and wet weather, or when wearing glovesRight-eye dioptric correction ensures tack-sharp viewsTwist-up rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewearLong 17.2mm eye relief reduces eye strain and increases viewing comfortWide 5.25mm exit pupil will cover most pupils and keep the whole scene in your viewConstruction Details Nitrogen-filled to be resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in weather and environmental conditionsO-ring sealed to be waterproof and submersible to a depth of 3.3' for up to 30 minutesTextured armoring with improve grip in cold and wet conditionsStandard 1/4"-20 socket accepts an optional adapter for hands-free use on a tripodFront and rear single-piece rainguards ensure that the lenses remain clean with the ability to attach them to the neck strap so they won't get lostIncludes carrying case and neck strapWeight: 36.8 ounces
