Alpen Optics

Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens combination optimized for low-light use, the Alpen Optics 8x56 Apex Waterproof Binoculars will be your go-to optic for outdoor activities in any weather conditions. The binoculars' 8x power brings your subject in close for observation and positive identification while presenting you with an ultrawide exit pupil and long eye relief, making them ideal for bird watching and hunting. The massive 56mm objectives keep views bright and sharp, even in low and challenging lighting like that at dawn and dusk, or under heavy cloud cover or forest canopies. The Apex series features proprietary PXA phase-correcting prism coatings and HR metallic covered reflective prism surfaces that maximize light transmission and boost clarity and contrast. The prism coatings are complemented by anti-reflection fully multicoated optics which provide bright and clear high-contrast views with accurate color rendition. Weighing in at 3.5 pounds, some users may experience arm fatigue during long glassing sessions, so Alpen outfitted the Apex with a standard 1/4"-20 socket in the front of the bridge hinge that will accept standard binocular tripod adapters.Optical Performance Optimized for low-light use with an exceptional exit pupil and large objectivesModerate 8x power magnifies the view while presenting a wide exit pupil and long eye relief to greatly improve the user's experienceMassive 56mm objective lenses deliver bright views, even in challenging light conditions such as pre-dawn and late dusk hoursCompact roof prism design allows for thinner optical tubes versus the more common Porro prism design, resulting in an easier-to-hold form factor, even with the large objectivesBAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortionPXA phase correcting prism coatings improve contrast and clarityHR metallic prism coatings on internal reflective surfaces to limit light loss and maximize light transmission through the prism systemAnti-reflection fully multicoatings improve light transmission, color rendition, and contrast305' field of view at 1000 yardsUse and Handling Closed bridge configuration provides a solid and stable platform for the internal focusing mechanismLarge slip-resistant center focus wheel is easy to manipulate in cold and wet weather, or when wearing glovesRight-eye dioptric correction ensures tack-sharp viewsTwist-up rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewearLong 17.5mm eye relief reduces eye strain and increases viewing comfortExceptional 7mmm exit pupil delivers all available light into the eye to ensure views are bright and clear with any vignetting of the viewConstruction Details Nitrogen-filled to be resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in weather and environmental conditionsO-ring sealed to be waterproof and submersible to a depth of 3.3' for up to 30 minutesTextured armoring with improve grip in cold and wet conditionsStandard 1/4"-20 socket accepts an optional adapter for hands-free use on a tripodFront and rear single-piece rainguards ensure that the lenses remain clean with the ability to attach them to the neck strap so they won't get lostIncludes carrying case and neck strapWeight: 56 ounces
