Pentax

Pentax designed the 8x42 S-Series SD WP Binoculars for a lifetime of rugged outdoor use in all weather and lighting conditions. The 42mm objectives are fully multicoated to reduce reflection and maximize light transmission through the entire optical path. Its roof prisms are phase-corrected to correct for chromatic aberrations, ensuring bright and clear high-contrast images with true color rendition in even low light. Its general purpose 8x magnification brings subjects close while maintaining a wide 60 angle of view to preserve situational awareness.Complementing the optical performance are construction details made for the trail. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for fogproof performance and to make them submersible to as deep as 3.3'. The binoculars sport a generous 21mm eye relief, and twist-up eyecups ensure comfortable viewing with or without eye wear. Protective coatings on the exterior lens surfaces repel water, dirt, and oil to keep them clean for unobstructed viewing.Optical Performance 8x magnification42mm objective lensesBAK4 roof prism optical pathPhase-corrected prism coatings virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations for increased contrast and true color renditionAnti-reflection fully multicoated optics393.8' field of view at 1000 yards60 angle of viewUse and Handling Closed bridge configurationLarge knurled center focus wheelRight-eye diopter adjustment21mm eye relief, 5.2mm exit pupilTwist-up eyecups for use with our without eye wearTripod mountable with optional adapterConstruction Rubberized armoring protects against impacts and provides slip-resistant gripNitrogen-filled, fogproof and submersible to 3.3' (1m)Internal focusing system helps to maintain waterproof sealsDust/water/grease repellent coatings keeps the optical surfaces clean
