Alpen Optics

Designed to deliver power and performance, the Alpen Optics 10x42 Rainier ED HD Binoculars is the ideal optic for hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts who glass at long range and require accurate colors and crisp clarity in all light conditions. To withstand the rigors of daily outdoor use, the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging if the weather turns or the binoculars take an accidental spill in a creek or puddle. The Rainier line features anti-reflection fully multicoated extra-low dispersion (ED) glass lenses that complement the phase-corrected and dielectric coated BAK roof prisms. This combination of glass, prisms, and coatings produce Alpen's high-definition optical system that delivers bright, clear, high-contrast views with accurate color rendition free from distortion or color fringing across its wide field of view. The 42mm objectives gather all the light needed to keep views crisp and bright in challenging conditions, such as at dawn and dusk, without being overly bulky or cumbersome.Optical Performance 10x magnification brings objects in close for detailed observation42mm objective lenses improve light-gathering ability, even in challenging conditions such as at dawn and dusk, without the bulk or weight of larger objectivesCompact roof prisms help to produce a thinner housing size without compromising performanceBAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortionPXA phase correcting prism coatings eliminate internal interference to improve contrast and clarityMetallic SHR prism coatings on internal reflective surfaces maximize light transmission while limiting internal diffractionExtra-low dispersion (ED) glass objective lenses correct chromatic aberrations and fringing to deliver bright and clear high-contrast and high-resolution views with accurate color representationUBX anti-reflection multicoatings improve light transmission, color rendition, and contrastShort 6.6-foot close focus distance is ideal for making detailed observations of small subjects like birds, bees, insects, flora & fauna at feeders and flower bedsWide apparent angle of view minimizes the appearance of distracting hand-shakeSpacious 341' field of view at 1000 yardsUse and Handling Open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration reduces weight without sacrificing strength Large slip-resistant center focus wheel is easy to manipulate in cold and wet weather, or when wearing glovesRight-eye A-Lock locking dioptric correction ensures tack-sharp views without the risk of accidentally changing your specific settingTwist-up click-stop rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear16mm eye relief reduces eye strain and increases viewing comfortComfortable 4.2mm exit pupil will cover most pupils and keep the whole scene in your viewConstruction Details Bridge design provides more gripping surface for steadier handlingNitrogen-filled to be resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in weather and environmental conditionsO-ring sealed to be waterproofTextured armoring with improve grip in cold and wet conditionsStandard 1/4"-20 socket accepts an optional adapter for hands-free use on a tripodFront single-piece rainguard ensures the lenses remain clean with the ability to attach them to the neck strap so they won't get lostIncludes carrying case and neck strapWeight: 29.4 ounces
