Alpen Optics

Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens combination preferred by hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts for its versatility and all-around performance, the Alpen Optics 8x42 Kodiak Waterproof Binoculars can be your go-to optic for outdoor activities in any weather conditions. The 42mm objectives gather all the light needed to keep views crisp and bright in challenging conditions, such as at dawn and dusk, without being overly bulky or cumbersome, and are complemented by BAK4 prism glass and fully multicoated lenses. These features work together to produce bright, clear high-contrast views that approach wide angle. The Kodiak chassis is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be resistant to internal fogging and waterproof to a depth of over three feet for up to 30 minutes so it'll likely handle the rain, snow, or a fall into a puddle or creek better than you would.Optical Performance Moderate 8x power magnifies the view while presenting a generous field of view, long eye relief, and wide exit pupil to greatly improve the user's experience42mm objective lenses improve light-gathering ability, even in challenging conditions such as at dawn and dusk, without the bulk or weight of larger objectivesCompact roof prisms help to produce a thinner housing size without compromising performanceBAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortionAnti-reflection fully multicoated optics improve light transmission, color rendition, and contrastApparent angle of view approaches wide angle to help minimize the need to move your head side-to-side to see the whole landscapeSpacious 345-foot field of view at 1000 yardsUse and Handling Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and stable platform for the internal focusing mechanismLarge, slip-resistant center focus wheel is easy to manipulate in cold and wet weather, or when wearing glovesRight-eye dioptric correction ensures tack-sharp viewsTwist-up rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewearLong 17.9mm eye relief produces a generous eye box that reduces eyestrain during long glassing sessionsWide 5.25mm exit pupil will cover most pupils and keep the whole scene in your viewConstruction Details Nitrogen-filled to be resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in weather and environmental conditionsO-ring sealed to be waterproofTextured armoring with improve grip in cold and wet conditionsStandard 1/4"-20 socket accepts an optional adapter for hands-free use on a tripodWeight: 33.6 ounces
