Ideal as a low-frequency companion for full-range systems and cabinets, the D.A.S. Audio ALTEA-718A is an active subwoofer sporting a potent 18" high-efficiency, high-excursion, FEM-optimized driver with a 3" voice coil. With up to 600W RMS (1200W peak) of power from it's Class-D amp, this sub can deliver seriously powerful low-end response and support numerous system configurations.Numerous DSP settings can be accessed through the onboard control and LCD screen. The ALTEA-178A features a balanced XLR input and a stereo pair of XLR loop thru output connections for satellite speakers. An integrated pole socket supports the mounting of satellite speakers and construction of a ground-stacked array. Further mounting options are provided by integrated M10 rigging points for suspended systems. The compact Birch plywood enclosure is easy to carry thanks to the convenient carry handle on the side. An outer ISO-flex coating provides solid protection for years of intense use and touring. Numerous openings ensure efficient passive cooling.Powerful 18" Driver At the heart of the ALTEA-718A lies a potent 18" low-frequency driver, which sports a high-efficiency, high-excursion design. The speaker is FEM (finite element) optimized and the large 3" voice coil contributes to the driver's long excursion. The ferrite magnet ensures long-term reliability.Efficient and Durable Design The ALTEA-718A features a durable yet compact Birch plywood cabinet protected with a tough ISO-flex outer coating for long-term dependability after long years of rigorous use with stationary or portable systems. The cabinet also features efficient passive cooling, with a vented pole piece in the driver design and abundant apertures in the speaker's back plate for keeping power compression to a minimum while simultaneously providing high acoustic output over extended periods.
