If you're a fan of the smooth analog warmth of vacuum tubes, then you can use the AMP16 Tube Amp Card from iBasso to swap out the solid-state amp of your DX340 DAP. Within the AMP16 are a pair of Raytheon 6418 vacuum tubes, which have gone through iBasso's APX555 audio testing equipment during production for comprehensive SINAD pairing. This is to help mitigate the natural variations when pairing tubes together. They are powered by a 22.5V anode power supply, which is tailored specifically for the 6418 tubes, giving enough headroom to enhance and optimize their performance. The compact form factor of AMP16 also includes four Ti Dual OPAMP and four BUF634A to help achieve the best sound quality possible. Please note some of the unique and normal properties you may experience as part of this tube-based amp. Tapping the chassis when paused may produce a ringing sound, and interference from mobile devices may occur, but neither of these microphonic effects can be noticed when music is playing.Dual Output Modes AMP16 gives you the option to choose between Tube or Class-AB output modes. In Tube mode, you can experience the warm tonal qualities of the Raytheon vacuum tubes. In Class-AB mode, interference noise and background disturbances are removed, leaving you with clean resolution and hi-end dynamic range.Suspended Installation The vacuum tubes feature a hanging installation where PORON material is used to suspend them within the chassis. This provides integrated shock absorption that helps to mitigate the microphonic effect.Additional Features 4.4mm balanced output3.5mm single-ended output100-step JRC volume control that helps reduce potential noise from the tubes12 VDC power input
