Unlike most rechargeable cells, this one gets its juice replenished by a Micro-USB connection instead of insertion into a charger. It features the same size and 1.5V output power as a AA battery, allowing it to be used as a substitute for that type of cell.A circuit with a durable steel shell is built into the anode to protect against overcharging, over-discharging, short-circuiting, and overheating. The last of these is prevented by a three-layer design consisting of a pressure relief valve, a microporous membrane separator, and a PTC cathode block. Additionally, the durable battery is designed to last for up to 500 charge/discharge cycles, and its low self-discharge rate allows it to maintain up to 75% of its capacity after the final cycle. As an added bonus, an LED status indicator light glows in red during charging and turns green when the process is complete.
