Description
An all-sky camera with a square sensor for easier mosaic stitching, the ASI676MC USB 3.0 Color Astronomy Camera from ZWO captures high-resolution planetary images as well as meteor recording and sky surveillance. Equipped with a Sony IMX676 CMOS sensor, the camera achieves 12MP resolution with low read noise and no amp glow. It transmits data to your computer quickly, thanks to the USB 3.0 interface and 256MB DDR3 cache, with a frame rate as high as 31.2 fps. The camera's 10.55ke full well capacity allows for long exposures and helps avoid overexposure issues.2.1MP Sensor The ASI676MC features a 1/1.6", 7.1mm square back-illuminated Sony Starvis 2 color CMOS sensor with a resolution of 3552 x 3552. The 2 pixels accommodate a full well capacity of 10.55ke. The sensor boasts a quantum efficiency of 83%.USB 3.0 & 256M DDR3 Memory The ASI676MC is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. Under long exposure, it effectively avoids frame dropping and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed.High-Conversion Gain Mode HCG mode comes on automatically when the gain is set to 180, and it keeps readout noise as low as 0.56e while maintaining an 11-stop dynamic range. No Amp Glow Using zero-glow amp circuitry, the ASI676MC eliminates amp glow a weak infrared light source often created by traditional CMOS sensors, sometimes seen in the corners of uncalibrated images. You won't have to worry about it, even during high-gain, long-exposure imaging.UV/IR Cut Window ASI676MC is equipped with a UV/IR-cut coated window in front of the sensor, with a diameter of 21mm and a thickness of 1.1mm. It effectively reduces infrared interference and improves image quality.Square Format The camera's square format makes the mosaic construction process much easier by eliminating the need to consider the difference between the long and wide sides of the format during mosaic stitching. The square format also makes the ASI676MC more compatible with various types of lenses, such as fisheye and wide-angle, for tasks such as meteor recording and full sky surveillance.
