Introduced in 2006, MDC lets owners of NAD components add exciting new capabilities such as Dolby Atmos immersive audio, 4K video switching, and BluOS multiroom music streaming. MDC2 features an all-new architecture that allows signals to be passed back and forth between the module and host component. This opens a far wider range of upgrade options for the C 389, and future MDC2-enabled components.MDC 2 BluOS-D Included with this model is the optional MDC2 BluOS-D module, which lets listeners play music from their favorite streaming services through the C 389. MDC2 BluOS-D is equipped with Wi-Fi and Ethernet and uses the acclaimed BluOS Controller app for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. Like all BluOS-enabled products, the MDC2 BluOS-D has integrated support for dozens of streaming services and supports Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect. Two-way communications also enable the MDC2 BluOS-D to stream music from sources connected to the C 389 to BluOS-enabled components in other rooms. BluOS supports music streaming to up to 63 zones.Dirac Live Room Correction The MDC2 BluOS-D comes with Dirac Live Limited Bandwidth (20 Hz to 500 Hz) installed with the option for advanced users to upgrade to the Dirac Live Full Frequency version. Dirac Live function lets you measure your room s acoustics using a supplied microphone and intuitive app, and then upload correction curves to the MDC2 BluOS-D. By compensating for acoustic anomalies in your listening environment, Dirac Live dramatically improves bass clarity, imaging, and timbral accuracy. Thanks to its two-way architecture, the MDC2 BluOS-D performs room correction for all sources connected to your C 389.Smart Home Control The C 389 comes equipped with IR remote, 12V trigger in and out, IR in and out, and an RS-232 serial port to allow seamless integration with smart home control systems such as Control4, Crestron, RTI, URC, Push, Lutron, iPort, and Elan.Additional Features Speaker A / Speaker B outputTwo-way Qualcomm aptX HD BluetoothHigh-res audio to 24-bit / 192 kHzMQA decodi
