This Schoeps CMC641 RAD-2 Set combines a CMC6 microphone amplifier and MK 41 supercardioid microphone capsule with a Radius RAD-2 shockmount and a low-profile XLR jumper cable (10.8"). A Radius 5cm Nimbus windshield is also included. The RAD-2 shockmount provides exceptional isolation from movement, handling noise, and other vibrations associated with booming. It is ideal for outdoor booming or indoor, when using the mic by itself or with the slip-on Nimbus fur windshield on it.The MK 41 capsule offers high directivity, at low and medium frequencies, comparable to that of a shotgun microphone. It delivers a natural sound due to its flat frequency response, which remains largely the same for all directions of pickup particularly important for indoor recording. Preferred uses include recording dialogue for film sound, as a spot microphone in the orchestra, and on the opera stage.
