The D5 Hybrid 5-Bay USB 3.2 Gen 2 Hybrid Disk Enclosure from TerraMaster combines the advantage of large-capacity hard drives, which can be used for storing infrequently-used cold data, with SSDs, which are used for more frequently accessed hot data. It features two SATA drive bays that can handle 2.5 or 3.5" hard drives and SSDs, plus three M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots. The D5 Hybrid delivers data transfers of up to 980 MB/s when equipped with one NVMe SSD. When equipped with two SATA SSDs configured as a RAID 0, it can deliver read speeds of up to 960 MB/s. When using two SATA HDDs, configured as a RAID 0, read speeds still reach 521 MB/s.The D5 Hybrid connects to your host Windows, Mac, or Linux system using a 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2/3.1) port that is compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.1 Gen 1/3.0), Thunderbolt 3, and Thunderbolt 4. It may be configured in RAID 0, 1, JBOD, or single using a switch on the back.Each drive bay allows for user-friendly and tool-free installation. Plug-and-play connectivity means that no additional drivers are required for use, while an intelligent 80mm cooling fan operates based on system temperature, ensuring that the drives operate within their optimal range.Innovative Storage The D5 Hybrid is a hybrid direct-attached disk enclosure. It can accommodate up to two SATA HDDs/SSDs and three M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs, combining the advantages of the HDDs' massive capacity and SSDs' high-speed performance simultaneously. The benefits of hybrid storage comes from using HDDs for storing infrequently accessed cold data, and SSDs for the more frequently accessed hot data. With the complimentary TPC Backupper backup software from TerraMaster, you can effortlessly schedule backups of hot data to HDDs, enhancing the security of your data.Automatic Backup Available as a free download, TPC Backupper is an extremely user-friendly Windows backup tool that allows you to schedule the backup of folders and disk partitions on your Windows system to TerraMaster USB devices or NAS network storage servers. To start automatic backups, simply connect the device to your computer, install the TPC Backupper client, and set up a scheduled backup task. This straightforward and reliable backup solution enables you to concentrate on your work, while in the background the TerraMaster D5 Hybrid concentrates on its work to protect your crucial data. TPC Backupper supports both incremental and differential backup strategies and is compatible with Windows 11, 10, 8.1, and 8.10 Gb/s Transfer Bandwidth The D5 Hybrid features the USB 3.2 Gen 2 protocol, providing a high data transfer bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s. When using one M.2 NVMe SSD, read speeds can reach as high as 980 MB/s, while two M.2 SATA SSDs, configured as RAID 0, can deliver read speeds of up to 960 MB/s.
