DESERT ISLAND SET MK 4

Schoeps

The matte-gray Schoeps Desert Island Stereo Set with MK 4 Capsules is a versatile microphone kit designed for capturing high-quality stereo recordings in various settings. It includes two CMC 1U miniature Colette microphone preamps, two MK 4 cardioid matched capsules (with their matching certificate), and two SG20 stand clamps, all neatly packaged in an ultracompact Peli hard case for protection. This portability and rugged build make the set ideal for field-recording applications. The MK 4 capsule is renowned for its flat frequency response and consistent cardioid pattern across all frequencies, making it a reliable "problem solver" in challenging recording situations. Its transparent sound and effective rear-incident sound attenuation allow for natural sound reproduction. The MK 4 is particularly suited as a spot microphone for acoustic instruments or conference recordings, and frequently serves as part of the main microphone pair in XY, ORTF, and MS stereo setups.None Complete alternative to the renowned CMC 6 amplifierCan be used in place of the CMC 6 with no compromiseXLR output connectorElectrical characteristics of the CMC 1 U are equal to, or even better than, those of the CMC 61.4" long (about a third the size of the CMC 6)1.3 ounces (about 40% lighter than the CMC 6)Fully compatible with all existing MK capsules and Colette active accessories such as the CUT 60 and RC tubesVery high immunity from RF interference with the Schoeps RFI ShieldIncludes mic clip for easy attachment to a mic standSuspension mounts such as the Rycote INV-6 are available separately
