Ideal for characterful studio recordings, the Black Lion Audio Eighteen is a rackmount channel strip designed to deliver vintage-style tones with its transformer- and opamp-laden microphone preamp and inductor-based passive program EQ. Keep it clean and subtle or push it hard for thick analog overdrive the Eighteen is made for tonal versatility. The mic preamp features a CineMag transformer and two of Black Lion Audio's BLA1831 discrete opamps to ensure that you can have a desirable old-school sound with the low noise floor required for modern recording standards. The program equalizer offers separate boost and attenuation knobs for each of its two frequency-selectable bands, and dedicated switches are provided for high- and low-pass filters. Additional appointments include a large analog VU meter and buttons for polarity, mute, EQ in/out, and mic/line input.
