Vixen Optics

Designed specifically for their FL55SS refractor telescope, the Vixen Optics f/5.7 Field Flattener virtually eliminates spherical aberration in the objective lens system, especially at the edges. Uncorrected, this aberration causes blurry, defocused, and distorted areas in astrophotography or CCD images. The optics on the field flattener are fully multi-coated allowing greater than 96% transmission across its 44mm diameter imaging circle. The included extension ring provides the correct backfocus distance while offering threads for optional camera-specific T-rings to connect cameras and imaging systems.
