The Allen Avionics HD-SDI-5 is a video hum and noise eliminator for HD-SDI applications. Hum eliminators work best when interference causes small differences in ground potential (less than 20VDC) or long cable runs have induced currents. HD-SDI units also work well when there are multiple power panels in a building that create differences in ground potential which induce ground loop current flow and 60Hz hum.Reduces Electromechanically Induced Hum The HD-SDI of hum eliminators increase the attenuation at the power frequency (50Hz or 60Hz) when induced currents are high, therefore reducing hum.HD-SDI Unlike analog signals, the digital signals do not degrade gracefully and are subject to a cliff effect. The eye pattern is typically used to evaluate signal quality. When an external factor such as random induced noise affects the absolute bit timing it can result in lost data. This noise reduction device can keep the digital signal from degrading by eliminating the noise.Connector Location The connectors on the "V" model are located on the broadside of the unit featuring 1/4 inch steel guardrails and connector covers.
