The LH878-02 Petal-Type Lens Hood for 35mm f/1.2 DG DN Art Lens from Sigma is specifically designed for this lens, and it is used to block stray light from entering the lens that would normally cause lens flare. The hood also protects the front element of the lens from accidental damage, and it is a replacement part that is originally supplied with the lens.
