Optimized for free-field reference applications and featuring second-generation enhancements, the Earthworks M30 G2 is an omnidirectional, small-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for calibration and measurement duties. With carefully selected circuitry designed to ensure extremely low noise and distortion and a high max SPL of 140 dB, the M30 G2 delivers precise results.The M30 G2 features a highly compact design, which is an inch and a half shorter than the G1 version. The frequency range is extremely wide, with flat-frequency capture from 5 Hz to 30 kHz. The mic is constructed from durable stainless steel, which sports an IP54 rating, making it safe in light rain or dirty environments, such as exterior movie sets. The M30 G2 includes a carrying case, a mic clip, an ADP1 calibrator adapter, a windscreen, and a mic thread adapter. G2 EnhancementsReduced Phantom Power Consumption 48V phantom power (P48) current consumption is now 7.2mA (reduced from Gen 1 s 10mA). This increases wireless transmitter battery runtime as well as adding compatibility with certain audio interfaces, especially when a large number of microphones are used.Reduced 1 kHz Sensitivity 1 kHz sensitivity has been reduced to -40 dBV/Pa (10mV/Pa) for better compatibility with some commonly used audio interfaces that cannot handle higher input signal levels (above 10 dBV). This is important for SPL measurement and monitoring, where the entire input signal chain (microphone, preamp, interface) should be able to handle 140 dB SPL without clipping.More Compact Form Factor M30 G2 is a little over an 1.5" / 4cm shorter than Gen 1, taking up less storage space and weighing less. The iconic and proven tapered tip design remains the same as Gen 1, with the length removed from the body section.
