Description
The McDSP APB-8 is an 8-channel programmable analog processor that seamlessly integrates the sonic richness of analog hardware with the convenience of digital workflows. It allows users to insert APB plug-ins into their DAW sessions just like standard plug-ins. However, instead of processing audio digitally, these plug-ins send control signals to the APB-8 hardware, which processes the audio in the analog domain before converting it back to digital and returning it to the DAW at audio resolutions up to 32-Bit/192 kHz. Up to eight mono APB plug-ins or up to four stereo APB plug-ins can run on a single APB-8. A growing collection of APB plug-ins is included, no additional purchases necessary. The APB-8 comes with two USB-C style connectors that support Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 ports on both Intel and Apple silicon Macs operating at twice the bandwidth of the original APB units that came with Thunderbolt 2. It is compatible with major DAWs like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Cubase through AAX, AU, and VST3 plug-in formats. McDSP APB plug-ins are not compatible with Windows, nor do they support the VENUE S6L systems. APB plug-ins require an iLok2 or iLok3 USB Smart Key, or an iLok License Manager account and an iLok Cloud session for authorization.
