Mighty but small, the NTP-DAD Core 256 is a 720-channel (in and out) audio interface designed to be a digital hub for studios handling large channel counts (such as Dolby Atmos). Sporting two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, 256 bi-directional channels at up to 96 kHz, 256 channels via onboard Dante, BNC, and SFP-based MADI I/O, and 16 channels of optical ADAT I/O, Core 256 can grab and convert nearly any digital channel.As if the aforementioned I/O was not sufficient, Core 256 takes things even further with 64-channel SPQ support with 16 filters and mono summing of up to 64 output buses (512 input buses). The internal router can handle a whopping 1500x1500 I/O matrix for virtually any routing configuration you might need. The unit supports sampling rates (and conversion on every digital channel) of up to 384 kHz and has 32-bit-float processing, along with advanced Thunder | Core and DADman software, ensuring you can easily control everything from either of two RJ45 ports or one of the two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Use the Core 256 as a Dolby Atmos routing hub, a digital bridge for your various digital audio devices, or purely as a DAW-facing audio interface. The SFP MADI and DADlink module allow for expanded MADI channel count up to 192 and interconectivity with proprietary DADlink-connected NTP-DAD products. The Core 256 takes 12 VDC power input via a locking connector and can be fitted with 19" rack ears (sold separately), for fitting up to two Core 256 units in 1 RU. MADI and DADlink ModuleDADlink DADlink is a proprietary audio and data format that establishes a superfast highway between DADlink-compatible units such as AX64, AX Center, Core 256, AX32, and more. Depending on the sample rate, you can transfer up to 128 bidirectional channels between units at zero latency.Sample rates from 44.1 to 384 kHz are supported, and the dynamic range is a staggering 237 dB, ensuring fast and reliable transfers at the highest audio quality imaginable. In fact, DADlink is not only the fastest connection from DAD to DAD units, but other products by NTP Technology are compatible with the DADlink format too.
