Oberwerk

Premium glass, a wide field of view, and a close-focus distance of just 6.6' make the Oberwerk 8x42 Sport ED Binoculars a solid choice for hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts. Antireflection, fully multicoated, extra-low dispersion (ED) glass with dielectric and phase-correcting coatings on the BAK4 prisms deliver bright, sharp, true-color images. The 64.8 apparent field of view presents a generous segment of the horizon and the close-focus distance allows a good look at that nearby butterfly or bird. Designed to stand up to a lifetime of outdoor use, the Sport ED features a lightweight, rubber-armored magnesium chassis and the optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to make them waterproof and resistant to internal fogging.Optical Performance 8x power for magnifying the view while preserving a wide exit pupil and long eye relief to make viewing easier and more comfortable42mm objective lenses for gathering the light needed to ensure views remain bright and clear even in challenging light conditionsExtra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements for reduction of chromatic and spherical aberrations to produce views with true color rendition without halos, diffraction, or distortion across the entire field of viewBAK4 prisms for delivering a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortionDielectric prism coatings for boosting internal surface reflectivity for maximum light transmission through the prism with minimal loss and diffraction and improved contrast and clarityPhase-corrected prism coatings for minimizing internal interference to improve contrast, clarity, and resolutionAntireflection fully multicoated lenses for maximizing light transmission to get bright and clear images with accurate color renditionWide 64.8 apparent angle of viewUse and Handling Closed-bridge configuration provides a stable platform for the internal focusing mechanismSlip-resistant aluminum center focus wheel is easy to manipulate in cold or wet conditions, or when wearing glovesRight-eye diopter adjustment enables users to compensate for optical prescription for sharper viewsWide 57-74mm interpupillary adjustment range allows easy use by wide variety of peopleTwist-up click-stop eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewearTripod mountable with optional adapter for hands-free use to eliminate vibrations and arm fatigueConstruction Details Light and durable magnesium chassisRubber-armored exterior offers impact protection while providing a slip-resistant gripNitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving though extreme temperature and environmental conditionsFlip-down objective lens caps allow for fast reaction to glassing opportunities while keeping the caps out of the way and safe
