Description
The Trinnov 3D Measurement Microphone is a powerful acoustic analysis tool featuring an XLR connector and engineered to unlock the full power of Trinnov s advanced optimization technology. Unlike conventional measurement mics, it not only captures the impulse response of every loudspeaker and subwoofer in your system but also determines their precise three-dimensional position in the room.By providing detailed data including frequency response, phase, group delay, impulse response, distance, azimuth, elevation, and absolute SPL the 3D Microphone supplies the Trinnov Optimizer with a complete acoustic profile of your environment. The result is unmatched calibration accuracy and maximum performance from any monitoring, cinema, or audio playback system.Tetrahedral Layout As each speaker is measured, the resulting sound waves pass through this array of microphone capsules, hitting each one at a slightly different time.Based on this timing, Trinnov's Optimizer technology (available separately) can triangulate the location of the speaker from which the sound arrived. By placing the microphone at the main listening position and testing each speaker in turn, it builds a three-dimensional map of where the speakers are relative to the main listening position. It uses this information to enable Trinnov's proprietary Remapping technology, which translates from the theoretical rendering of the soundtrack to the specifics of your particular room. Remapping uses the existing speaker array to create a phantom image of the sound coming from the correct location. For Use with Trinnov Processors The 3D XLR Microphone is used with Trinnov's pro audio and residential range of processors. Note that other measurement hardware is not compatible, as it does not provide the information the system requires.Trinnov's Commercial cinema processors use a specific microphone box and special microphone conversion file to perform multiple measurements with either 4 or 8 microphones at a time. This speeds the calibration of commercial cinemas, where any downtime is costly.Individually Calibrated Every Trinnov microphone is individually tested and measured at the factory. This Model v10 version of the mic includes the compensation file in the microphone itself, which is seamlessly transferred to the processor during the calibration process. This helps achieve measurements with a flat frequency response from 20 Hz to 24 kHz (within 0.1 dB) with 3D localization accurate to 2 of azimuth, 2 of elevation, and less than 0.4" of distance.
