PD-12X

Roland

Enjoy multisensor precision and a streamlined design with the PD-12X from Roland, a 12" V-Drums pad with a shallow design for easy positioning and acoustic-style die-cast traditional-height hoop for easy rim playing. With its advanced sensor design, hot spots are eliminated, while positional sensing allows for incredible expressivity. The positional sensors (supported by V71, TD-50X, and TD-27 sound modules) enable natural playing techniques such as rim shots, cross-stick rim playing, and even brush sweeps, for compatible kit presets. The universal mount design makes this V-Pad compatible with hardware from Roland, DW, Pearl, Yamaha, and more. The standard 1/4" TRS output also provides easy connections with many drum sound modules (other modules may not support positional sensing). The rim playing surface is set inside the hoop, and the drum pad features stylish and durable chrome parts throughout. The PD-12X includes a 1/4" TRS trigger connection cable, a drum key, and a knob bolt.Adjusting Head Tension With real lugs built into the chrome hoop, you can manually adjust the head tension for an optimal bounce and playing experience. Tune your drum for your preferred manner of playing, just like a real acoustic drum.Performance Techniques Depending on the sound module used, positional sensing can allow for a range of realistic playing techniques not possible on other drum pads, including:Head shot: for certain snare sounds, the tone can change naturally as you move the striking location further from the center of the head and more towards the rimRim shot: you can strike the rim and the head together for a classic rim shotCross stick: you can strike the rim while placing your hand on the snare head, ideal for pure rim clicksBrushes: you can use brushes to scrape the head using classic sweep techniques (may require Brush Switch to be turned on via sound module)Open or shallow rim shot: you can also achieve a different rim-shot sound by striking the head near the rim instead of the center, for a shallow shot
