Empress Effects

Experience the full control and transparency of the Empress Effects ParaEq MKII Deluxe in a pedal tuned specifically for bass with the Bass ParaEq. Sporting three bands of variable parametric EQ with fully sweepable Q and a new dynamic, self-adjusting low-shelf filter, the Bass ParaEq offers total control for electric and upright bass. Each band offers 15 dB of gain control and the pedal also features adjustable high- and low-pass filters, just like the ParaEq MKII. A selectable 10-megohm Hi-Z input allows the Bass ParaEq to perfectly match high-impedance inputs like piezo pickups and upright basses. An adjustable clean boost with a dedicated footswitch allows you to provide more gain before an FX chain or drive the input of a tube amp. With an internal operating voltage of 27V, close to that of rack-mounted equipment, you get significant headroom and clarity regardless of gain levels. And with buffered bypass, you can enjoy warmth and signal integrity over long and complex cable runs.A Parametric EQ Specifically for Bass Players Experience the full control and transparency of the Empress Effects ParaEq MKII Deluxe in a pedal tuned specifically for bass with the Bass ParaEq. While graphic EQs provide a convenient visual sense of equalization, there is a tradeoff in transparency and precision. In situations where a graphic EQ will shift the entire frequency spectrum to boost a particular frequency, a parametric EQ offers far greater precision in boosts and cuts.Similarly, these wide shifts produced by graphic EQs also tend to attenuate frequencies that parametric EQs keep unchanged. This is why professional studios, and most creatives, prefer parametric EQs.Dial in Clarity without Losing Depth Your bass tone is nearly there but it s just a bit too boomy or gets buried in the mix. The Bass ParaEq lets you make precise musical adjustments that preserve the low end while adding clarity and punch. It s more transparent and accurate than a typical graphic EQ.Frequency Controls Fully variable- and sweepable-Q control on each band for Narrow (equal to a Q of 4, or 1/3 octave), Medium (a Q of 2.5, affecting 2/3 octave), and Wide (a Q of 1, affecting 1.5 octaves), as well as in-between settingsLow-frequency control sweeps between 35 and 500 HzMid-frequency control from 100 Hz to 1.6 kHzHigh-frequency knob sweeps from 375 Hz to 9.7 kHz 15 dB gain control on each bandControl Feedback without Killing Tone Upright basses and piezo-loaded acoustics can be feedback magnets, especially on loud stages. The Bass ParaEq gives you the pinpoint control to notch out problem frequencies without neutering your sound so your tone stays rich, full, and present, even in tough rooms.Consistency on the Road Touring without your usual rig? The Bass ParaEq helps you quickly adapt to unfamiliar amps or DIs, keeping your tone consistent whether you re on a festival stage, in a club, or going straight into FOH.
