SKIES - GRANULAR PROCESSOR FOR EURORACK

Behringer

Sculpt dense, evolving textures and craft glitchy, fragmented rhythms with the Behringer SKIES, a real-time audio processing module that's based on Mutable Instruments CLOUDS. SKIES excels at creating textures and soundscapes by combining multiple overlapping, delayed, transposed, and enveloped segments of sound taken from the audio recording buffer. SKIES ships with a ribbon power cable and screws.Benefits Textures and soundscapes created by combining multiple overlapping, delayed, transposed and enveloped segments of sound taken from audio recording bufferBased on Mutable Instruments CloudsSelectable resolution from 8-bit / 16 kHz to 16-bit / 32 kHzSKIES differs from other granular Eurorack modules in that it focuses on the real-time processing of audio sources from your modular system itself, rather than playback of prerecorded samples from a storage deviceStereo or Mono recording operationUSB interface on front panel to upgrade your module easilyWhat is Granular Synthesis? Granular synthesis takes audio and chops it into tiny bits called grains, which are then rearranged, layered, and manipulated in pitch, size, and density. These grains can be stretched across time, reversed, or smeared into lush atmospheres. The result? Evolving textures, glitched-out rhythms, and ethereal soundscapes that can transform even the simplest sound source into something extraordinary. With SKIES, you can push this technique to its creative limits.Features that Inspire SKIES gives you hands-on control over core parameters like Position, Size, Pitch, Density, and Texture, letting you shape every detail of your grains with precision. The Blend control provides access to stereo spread, feedback, and reverb, ensuring you can create everything from subtle stereo shimmer to cavernous soundscapes. Engage the Freeze function to capture a sonic moment in time, perfect for building loops, drones, or ambient pads on the fly. With extensive CV input options, SKIES thrives in a modular environment where dynamic modulation can take your sound even further.Unlock New Creative Horizons From haunting ambient layers to broken digital glitches and beyond, SKIES encourages experimentation at every turn. Create deep, evolving soundscapes for cinematic compositions, or inject chaotic bursts of texture into your rhythm tracks. Whether you're adding delicate sparkles to a melody or transforming field recordings into immersive sonic worlds, SKIES offers endless possibilities for musicians and sound designers alike.Eurorack Ready With SKIES in your rack, your creative toolkit expands exponentially.
