Description
Delivering classic analog equalizing based on the vintage model 562, the API Audio SR24 is a dual-channel, 4-band fully parametric EQ designed for standard equipment racks. With continuously variable frequency and gain control and up to 12 dB of boost or cut per band, this EQ allows for quick and precise sculpting of frequencies. The SR24 sports fully balanced inputs and outputs, including XLR 3-pin and 1/4" TRS jacks, which support dual-mono or stereo processing. The outputs feature transformer balancing via API's custom output transformer. The circuitry supports massive headroom, up to +24 dB, allowing you to handle a wide range of signals in professional applications. Both channels are linked to the master on/off switch, and each channel has an independent EQ-In button, allowing you to use either or both channels at your leisure.Historic EQ Circuitry The SR24 circuit design is deeply rooted in API s history. From the late 1970 s to the early 1980 s, an audio company called APSI manufactured consoles and equalizers. Their 562 module was a 4-band, fully parametric equalizer, which was designed by APSI and sold through API.Over the last several decades, these EQ modules have remained a favorite among many studio engineers, but have become increasingly difficult to find. The SR24 is a faithfully re-engineered version of the original 562, offering the user two channels of classic analog EQ in one rackmount unit.Four-Band EQ Control The API SR24 contains two identical equalizer channels in one chassis, sharing a common on/off switch. The frequencies covered in each channel include:20 to 200 Hz100 Hz to 1 kHz500 Hz to 5 kHz2 kHz to 20 kHz
