The STRAUSS ELEKTROAKUSTIK SE-MF-4 Midfield Monitor is a passive speaker that is meant to be used in high-end mastering and critical-listening applications. The monitor can be found in many mastering rooms around the globe.The SE-MF-4 is a midfield monitor, offering a 1" compression driver with a metal-alloy diaghragm, a neodymium magnet circuit, and constant-directivity horn. For the low and midrange frequency, the speaker offers a 12" LIT woofer with a coated paper cone and a neodymium magnet circuit. The crossover is set at 1.2 kHz. All told, this monitor will net you a frequency response of 28 Hz to 22 kHz when paired with a suitable amplifier to power the speaker. It is designed to handle 100W RMS of power. You'll find binding posts on the back of the unit to connect to an amplifier (separately available). With a dispersion of 80 x 60 (horizontal x vertical), the monitor is quite suited for your studio environment, as it can address the sweetspot and surrounding areas more than adequately. The monitor is solidly constructed at over 100 lb, which speaks to its build quality and ability to reproduce frequencies accurately.
