The 8x42 3D Series ED Binoculars from Carson Optical combine extra-low-dispersion (ED) glass elements with a nitrogen-filled housing to create a versatile optic that delivers a bright, sharp image and weatherproof performance. At the core of these general purpose binoculars is a fully multi-coated optical path that utilizes ED lenses to transmit bright images that are color faithful and contrast-rich. To preserve image quality and maximize the color fidelity provided by the ED glass, Carson outfits its 3D Series binoculars with phase-corrected BAK4 prisms engineered to align the incoming wavelengths of light and retain lifelike details.Complementing the extra-low-dispersion optical path and fogproof and waterproof construction, the 3D Series binoculars feature twist-up eyecups and a comfortable 19.5mm eye relief that provides a comfortable viewing distance for most observers. The 8x magnification power equips this set of binoculars for a wide range of observations; a 52 apparent viewing angle and 9.8' minimum focus distance extend the functionality to include close-range tasks like birding. An included neoprene neck strap and stabilizing shoulder harness enable comfortable extended-duration observations and help make the 8x42 3D Series binoculars well-suited for almost any outdoor activity.Optical Performance 8x magnification, 42mm objectivesFully multi-coated optics, ED glass elementsPhase-corrected BAK4 prisms, roof prism design6.5 angle of view, 52 apparent viewing angle341' field of view at 1000 yd9.8' close viewing distance19.5mm eye reliefUse and Handling Twist-up eyecupsIncluded shoulder harness for stabilized handlingConstruction Details Nitrogen-filled housing is fogproof and waterproofTextured rubber armoring for non-slip grip1.4 lb weight
