Useful for residential and commercial cable installers, the Platinum Tools LANSeeker is a cable tester and tone generator designed to test the usability of Ethernet cables. It identifies shorts, miswires, opens, reverses and split pairs, with a debug mode that diagnoses faults one pair at a time, displaying them on LED indicators on the main and remote unit. The LED monitors battery status as well. The LANSeeker generates audio tones, making it suitable for use with tone tracers. Running off of a single 9V battery, the unit sports a relatively long battery life, giving you 20 hours of testing, 170 hours of audio tone, and 2.5 years of life in standby.
