Waves

Designed specifically for video editors who must manipulate audio throughout their endeavors, the Waves Video Sound Suite is a downloadable bundle with many processes for shaping sound clips in editing sessions. Included are the DeEsser, the IR-L Convolution Reverb, L1-Ultramaximizer, the Q10 Equalizer, the Renaissance Compressor, and the W43 Noise Reduction Plug-in. The DeEsser is useful for mitigating harsh sibilance in dialogue tracks, while the Q10 Equalizer and Renaissance Compressor also come in handy for the spoken word. The Q10 gives you the ability boost or attenuate ten frequency bands, while the Renaissance Compressor is a smooth dynamics-taming processor whose behavior is modeled on multiple, switchable types of compressors. You can use this module to reign in the dynamics of suddenly loud speakers, though its selectable harmonic distortion circuit (the Warm button) can also warm up shrill audio. The IR-L can help you smooth ADR into the ambiance of a scene. The L1 is a limiter with look-ahead that can help you stay on spec, and the W43 Noise Reduction module is modeled on a classic Cedar box that helps shape noisy sound-sources. With these tools and the help of a few tutorials, you should have everything you need to assume the basics of dialogue polishing within the context of your NLE.None Sharp side-chain filtersNone Wide-band or split compression modesNone Audio (source) or side-chain monitoringNone Up to 24-bit/192 kHz resolutionNone Mono and stereo componentsNone SoundGrid license compatible with MultiRack Native, StudioRack Native, MultiRack SoundGrid, StudioRack SoundGrid, and eMotion ST Mixer
